Clapham fashion

Having just recently moved to Clapham Common in London, I had to adjust my sartorial style to a big city. I had spent the past year in a tiny village in Scotland where the untold uniform was a barbour jacket (to which I never converted as my daddy already owns one) and Hunter wellies (which I did obtain as a Christmas present, before realising this specific pair was not waterproof, somehow disapointing for wellies…).

Yes, adjusting to London should have been hard but I was more than happy to don my cashmere jumpers and riding boots to jump both feet into the electic environment offered by my new city.

Clapham is so young, everybody is stylish, just visit the local Sainsbury’s to get a lesson in casual cool. My first note was that everybody being young professionals, denim wasn’t that hot a look on the South of the Northern line.

Uniqlo offers a great pair of boyfriend chinos at the moment, for £30, get them in Beige as they will go with everything. I pair them with a cable knit sweater in chilly weather and a deep neck tee shirt in order to sex up the chinos look which can look a bit boy-ish to say the least.

In the shoes department either pair those with a cool pair of chunky colourful sneakers or a delicate pair of flats rolling the hem just above the ankle.
